About VA Disability Hub
We are an independent, veteran-focused educational platform dedicated to providing free, accurate, and comprehensive information about VA disability benefits. Our mission is to empower veterans with knowledge so they can navigate the benefits system with confidence.
Our Mission
VA Disability Hub exists because we believe every veteran deserves free, easy-to-understand access to information about the benefits they earned through their service. Too many veterans miss out on benefits they qualify for, often because the VA system can be complex and difficult to navigate without guidance.
We created this platform to bridge that knowledge gap. Our goal is to provide comprehensive educational resources that help veterans understand their disability ratings, the claims process, available benefits, and how to protect themselves from predatory services that exploit those who served our country.
Every tool, article, and resource on this site is available completely free of charge. We will never put essential benefits information behind a paywall, and we will never charge veterans for educational content about their earned benefits.
What We Offer
Comprehensive Education
In-depth educational content covering the entire VA disability system, from understanding how disability ratings work and VA math calculations, to the claims process, appeals, C&P exams, secondary conditions, and P&T status. Our Education Hub provides detailed guides written in plain language so every veteran can understand their rights and options.
Conditions Database
A searchable database of over 1,200 VA-rated service-connected conditions with detailed information about rating criteria, common secondary connections, documentation tips, and what to expect at C&P exams for each condition. This resource helps veterans understand how the VA evaluates their specific disabilities.
Interactive Tools
Free interactive tools including a VA disability rating calculator that uses official VA math (including bilateral factors), a state benefits finder covering veteran-specific benefits in all 50 states, a VA forms directory with 30+ commonly used forms, and a local resources map to help veterans find VA facilities and VSOs near them.
Fraud Protection
Our Claim Shark Protection center educates veterans about predatory services that charge excessive fees for assistance that is available for free through VSOs. We provide red flag checklists, reporting tools, and an accreditation verification system so veterans can make informed decisions about who they trust with their claims.
Our Core Values
Veteran-First Approach
Every decision we make starts with one question: does this help veterans? Our content is written specifically for veterans and their families, avoiding jargon where possible and explaining complex topics in plain, accessible language. We prioritize the information veterans need most and organize it for easy access.
Accuracy and Transparency
We are committed to providing accurate, up-to-date information. When VA policies change, we update our content accordingly. We clearly state that we are an independent educational platform and are not affiliated with the Department of Veterans Affairs. We always recommend that veterans verify information through official VA channels for their specific situations.
Free Access for All Veterans
We believe that information about earned benefits should never be behind a paywall. Every resource on VA Disability Hub is available to all veterans at no cost. Our operational costs are covered through ethical advertising (Google AdSense) and voluntary donations from supporters who share our mission, never by charging veterans for the information they need.
Protection from Exploitation
Unfortunately, the veteran benefits space is rife with predatory companies that charge thousands of dollars for services that accredited VSOs provide for free. A core part of our mission is educating veterans about these “claim sharks” so they can protect themselves and their families from financial exploitation.
